What are Tegus Formulas?
Tegus Formulas is an Excel Add-in that provides access to a custom set of Excel formulas designed to pull company data from Tegus. Tegus Formulas allow you to access the following types of data:
Company historicals that you can also find in Tegus Models
Pricing and FX
Consensus estimates
Tegus Formulas provides you with 5 Excel functions from Tegus that serve as an instant data feed to help you build comps workbooks and other bespoke analyses with historical financials and KPIs, consensus and market data. Configure workbooks with the companies and KPIs you want and Tegus Formulas will update with new information when there is new data available.
Tegus Formulas can be built with cell references or by coding the required arguments directly into the formula. If you are coding arguments directly into the formula, make sure that they are wrapped in quotations.
e.g. =TEGUS.CD("AAPL_US", “MO_RIS_REV”, “Q1-2024”)
If you are making references to cells with the arguments in them, do not add quotations around your references.
e.g. =TEGUS.CD(A1, A2, A3) where A1=AAPL_US, A2=MO_RIS_REV, A3=Q1-2024

The Ribbon
From the Tegus and the Tegus Formulas tab in the ribbon you can access 3 controls to help you work with Tegus Formulas; the Refresh All Formulas, Insert Formula and Build Table options.
Refresh All Formulas
This button can be used to help you refresh the data in your workbook. When you first open a workbook that already contains Tegus Formulas, click this button to make sure that your formulas are pulling the most recent information. Cells will not automatically update for new data when available.
To update cells in a workbook after the initial refresh you can use the Refresh All Formulas button to bring in the most recent data. If new data is available, Tegus Formulas will also refresh on any recalculation of cells. This usually will occur from actions such as adding or removing rows and columns in the same worksheet.
When there is new data available the Refresh All Formulas button will show a red notification to let you know that you can refresh your workbook if you would like.
Insert Formula
The Insert Formula button will open the Formula Builder. The Formula Builder is designed to help you build a Tegus Formula without prior knowledge of the required codes or syntax. See the Formula Builder article for more details on how to use it.
Build Table
The Build Table button helps you build a comps workbook or custom dashboard from scratch. The tool will insert a list of tickers in the correct format so that you can start adding the formulas you would like.
