The Formula Builder is a supporting tool that you can use to help you build a Tegus Formula. Using the Formula Builder requires no prior knowledge of Tegus Formulas or Tegus data structure.

Access the Formula Builder by clicking the Insert Formula button in your ribbon. Once clicked, the Formula Builder will appear on a side panel in your Excel window.

The Formula Builder will default to building a Company Data formula but you are able to build each type of Tegus Formula with this tool. To build a different type of Tegus Formula, use the drop down menu near the top of the Formula Builder side panel.

Complete the steps shown in the Formula Builder to build a Tegus Formula. Once you have completed these steps, click Insert Formula at the bottom of the side panel to add your formula. The Tegus Formula you have built will be added to the cell you have selected in the workbook.

Cell References

You can make cell references with the Formula Builder if the argument already exists in your workbook. This can make it easier to copy and paste formulas across multiple arguments. To make a cell reference select the blue icon next to the search box or drop down menu for a given step and click on the cell you would like to refer to for your formula argument.

You can lock cell references to a column and/or row in the cell reference selection process so that your Tegus Formula is easier to copy and paste across multiple cells.

Note the Formula Builder will validate the cell reference you make. If the contents of that cell are not a valid argument, you will not be able to refer to that cell. Make sure that your arguments are in the correct format to prevent this.

Edit a Formula

You can edit an existing Tegus Formula in your workbook with the Formula Builder by selecting the cell with the Tegus Formula that you would like to edit and clicking the pencil icon in the bottom right of the Formula Builder side panel that is just above the Insert Formula button.
