Excel Add-In Overview

What Is Excel Add-In?

Excel Add-In enables you to pull AlphaSense financial data into Microsoft Excel so you can integrate data points into their own models or use pre-built templates to kickstart financial analysis.

Installing Excel Add-In

Excel Add-In can be downloaded in two ways:

1. Microsoft AppSource: Follow this link to the AlphaSense App in Microsoft AppSource (or search for “AlphaSense” in the top search bar), select “Get it now” and follow on-screen instructions to download the Add-In

Option 2:

In Excel: Navigate to the “Home” tab and select the “Add-In” Icon. Then search for “AlphaSense'' in the left-hand search bar. Finally, select “Add” to download the Add-In. From here, AlphaSense will have its own tab in Excel.

Step 3: Search for "AlphaSense" and click on "Add" to download the app

Once it is successfully downloaded, you should see the AlphaSense tab and once you click My account you be prompted to sign into your AlphaSense account on the right-hand side of your screen.

1. Leverage pre-built models enriched with up-to-the-minute financials in our Excel Add-In.

Our template library offers many useful templates directly accessible from the Excel plugin. Feel free to use it directly in your models or as a tool to quickly and easily learn how to build formulas with our plugin.

  1. Select a template:

    • Use the “search field” bar, or

    • Choose from the options displayed

  2. The template will open in a new Excel workbook

  3. At the top of the page adjust the model

Integrate data points from Alphasense Financial Data into Excel to build custom analyses with simplified and intuitive formula syntax

Seamlessly integrate data points from Financial Data into your own models:

  1. Select a metric:

  2. Use the “search field” bar, or

  3. Choose from the categories displayed

  4. Enter a ticker

  5. Choose: Model type, Data point, Accounting period, and Period to customize your data point

  6. Copy and paste your data point.

All the formulas should follow the following format: =ASQ("Company Ticker", Metric from formula builder, "Time Period")
