What is Workforce Analytics?
AlphaSense has partnered with Revelio Labs to integrate Workforce Analytics into the AlphaSense platform.
This feature provides insight into workforce trends that help users evaluate companies, industries, and labor market dynamics. Workforce data is especially valuable for analyzing private companies, where traditional financial disclosures may be limited. AlphaSense provides workforce analytics for over 2.6 million private companies.
How to Access Workforce Analytics
Launch Generative Search.
Search for a private company.
Select the company name from the dropdown to open its Company Profile.
Select the Workforce tab from the left-hand toolbar to view analytics.
FAQs
Who has workforce data?
Currently, active private companies have Workforce Analytics data available.
What workforce metrics are available?
You can access the following metrics:
- Overall company headcount
- Average tenure
- Headcount growth
- Hiring rate
- Attrition rate
- Monthly headcount by top-level job category
How often is the data updated?
Workforce data is updated monthly. New data is typically available by the 20th of each month, reflecting changes as of the end of the previous month.
Where does the data come from?
AlphaSense sources Workforce Analytics from Revelio Labs. Revelio aggregates data from:
- Publicly available online professional profiles
- Employer review websites
- Job posting sites
These sources help build a comprehensive view of a company’s workforce—often including contract and temporary workers.
How are hiring, attrition, and growth calculated?
Metrics use the following formulas:
- Hiring = Total external inflows ÷ 12-month average headcount
- Attrition = Total external outflows ÷ 12-month average headcount
- Growth = Hiring – Attrition
Why might headcount data differ from public reports?
Workforce data relies on online professional profiles, which may vary in coverage:
- Underrepresented industries: manufacturing, hospitality, retail
- Overrepresented industries: tech, media, and high-visibility companies
Also, AlphaSense includes contingent workers in its headcount, which may not appear in public financial disclosures.
How are acquisitions handled?
Historical acquisitions are reflected in the time series based on the current corporate structure.
