Leverage sentiment analysis to drive deeper research by searching topics in a positive or negative context
In AlphaSense, you can use sentiment to identify inflection points on earnings transcripts and leverage sentiment analysis to drive deeper research by searching topics (any keyword, company or watchlist) in a positive or negative context.
For Topics
Find public content that expresses a positive or negative tone about a specific topic.
How to Search:
- Go to Document Search.
- Start with your topic keyword(s).
- Add ‘positive’ and/or ‘negative’ to the end of your search query.
Adding "positive" or "negative" narrows the results to content with a clear tone, helping you filter based on sentiment.
For Companies:
Identify whether a company is making positive or negative statements — about any topic.
How to Search:
- Go to Document Search.
- Enter the company name.
- Add ‘positive’ and/or ‘negative’ to the Keyword Search (do not add any other keyword).
Required Filter:
- Under Sources, select Event Transcripts.
- Option 1: From the Quick Filters, choose Event Transcripts.
- Option 2: Click More Sources, then select only Event Transcripts in the expanded list.
This method isolates sentiment in statements made directly by the company, such as during earnings calls, investor events, or public Q&A sessions.
