Summary
The Summary page is your one-stop shop to get up to speed on a company and answer key questions like:
- What does this company do?
- Is it doing well?
- What does the competitive landscape look like?
- What does the market think?
This page provides foundational context, pulling together content and data across the entire AlphaSense platform, including your firm’s own content.
- Quick Links provide one-click access to the latest filings, earnings call transcripts, and Canalyst Models and Industry Comps
- Latest Documents helps you keep tabs on the latest developments so you’re never out of the loop.
With the integration of financial data, you’re now able to get both the numbers and the story behind them, providing a full 360° view on any company. The Financials & Metrics section provides a snapshot of a company’s financial performance and how it compares to industry peers.
We’re also weaving our AI capabilities into Company Profiles to make it easier to understand key themes and areas of interest for further research. This comes to life in a few places on the Summary page. First, our Workflow Agents automate manual, time intensive research tasks in minutes without any prompting. Next, the Earnings Commentary section gives you a synopsis of your chosen quarter’s earnings call with key takeaways and topics discussed.
Workflow Agents
Company Profiles also feature Deep Research prompts about the company that you can execute for more insights. For context, these prompts will take longer than a traditional Gen Search query.
Depending on the question, content covered, etc, expect Deep Research questions to take 5-15 minutes.
Feel free to ask it, and navigate to other parts of AlphaSense - your analysis will continue to run in the background and a copy of the report will also be sent to your email when it’s finished.
Alerts
You can set up alerts for your companies of interest by clicking the Follow button on a company profile.
When you follow a company, it will add it to a new watchlist called “My Followed Companies.” You can adjust the frequency of alerts by content type by clicking the dropdown next to “Following” and changes will apply to all companies in your My Followed Companies watchlist.
To unfollow a company, you can either:
- Click the “Following” button on the Company Profile for the company you want to unfollow, or
- Open the Following button dropdown and click “View Watchlist Settings,” then check the boxes next to any companies you want to unfollow and select “Clear Tickers"
Industry Earnings Summary
Once in the Industry Earnings Summary experience, you can use the Industry Map to toggle between industry-level summaries and individual company-level summaries. Adjusting your selection will automatically change the contents of the summary modules. If you’ve selected the industry as a whole, modules will summarize common topics, positives, negatives, and outlooks from across the top 200 companies based on market cap within that industry.
You can click on a bullet point from any of these modules to preview the various sources our model used to create that particular summary. Most of these summaries will have multiple sources because they summarize themes across multiple company earnings calls.
Additionally, you can adjust the timeframe from which these summaries are sourced. For the time being, we only provide summaries back to Q4 2023, but this will soon be expanded to at least a year of historical information.
Documents
Easily access Documents within the Company Profile that showcase key content sets: Expert Transcripts, Wall Street Insights, and Company Docs.
Expert Transcripts
Access Improved summaries from Expert perspectives directly from the Company Profile. Here, you'll now be able to see the type of expert, the other companies mentioned within the transcript, the type of transcript, page count, and date for relevancy.
Broker Research
You can now easily locate any Ratings and Changes from Top Brokers faster than ever before. You can quickly identify all relevant documents and even locate documents that contain any Upgrades & Downgrades, as well as Price Target revisions.
Under the Overview of Broker Research, you can also hone in on key reports such as Initiation of Coverage, Meetings with Management, Industry Reports, Credit Research, Commodities, and more.
Company Docs
With Company Docs you can easily identify any documentation around Earnings & Events, identify key filings, and see any other company documentation. Should you be looking for a specific document, I recommend utilizing the Search Company Docs feature.
Financials & Metrics

This section provides key statements from companies to perform your financial analysis, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports.
NOTE: If you want to see where a data point came from in the source filing, simply click the hyperlink when hovering over the metric. This will pull up a screen that shows you which filing the metric was sourced from and when the filing was announced. Click the “Find in Search” button to run an AlphaSense search for the metric in a new tab. When you click the filing in the resulting search, you’ll see all mentions of the metric within the report and can see them in context.
Income Statement
The Income Statement comprehensively summarizes all key income metrics from the past 5 years and expectations for upcoming quarters. The columns with an (E) and highlighted in gray are yearly broker consensus estimates.
Broker consensus estimates are aggregated predictions or forecasts made by sell-side analysts regarding the future performance of a company's financial metrics (Earnings Per Share, Revenue, etc.)
Broker consensus helps investors evaluate risk and sentiment and determine whether their views align with market consensus.
Balance Sheet
AlphaSense also provides the company's balance sheet, which summarizes its assets, liabilities, shareholder equity, fund balance, and supplementals at specific points in time.
Cash Flow
The Cash Flow Sheet summarizes a company's operating cash flow, investing cash flow, as well as financing cash flow over a specific period of time.
Comparables
In the Comparables, you can easily see the peers of the company of interest automatically. You can also add individual companies to the chart via the "add company to table" box. You have several methods of visualizing relevant metrics for a peer-to-peer comparison underneath Visualize Data. You can also manage the columns to add any additional information you may require for your analysis.
Charting
Provides you with a visualization of a company’s value and metrics over time. You can add key financial metrics to the chart from the drop-down to easily visualize the relevant information for your focus area.
Funding
For Public companies, pre-IPO funding rounds give the historical context of what round, when it was announced, how much was raised, post-money valuation, # of investors, lead investors, and a list of other investors.
For Private Companies, this information can be leveraged for competitive intelligence, identify potential M&A targets, and help understand investor sentiment and market trends.
