Set up secure, seamless SAML SSO with Microsoft Entra ID in just a few steps.

- Step 5: Test the SSO login for assigned user
Setting up SAML SSO with Microsoft Entra ID involves creating an application, configuring the required AlphaSense metadata, and sharing your IdP metadata URL to establish trust between systems. Once configured, you can assign users, test authentication, and ensure seamless login through your organization’s identity provider. This guide walks you through each step needed to complete the setup.
Pre-requisites
- You have the Single Sign-On URL and Service Provider Entity ID from the Service Provider (AlphaSense), provided to you after completing step 1 of the Self Service Set Up.
Step 1: Create a new application in Microsoft Entra ID
Note: Skip this section if you have already created an AlphaSense application.
- In Microsoft Entra admin center, select Applications → Enterprise applications from the left menu.
- Select New application → Create your own application.
- Fill in the name, select option “ Integrate any other application you don’t find in the gallery (Non-gallery) " and click Create.
Step 2: Set Up the Connection
- Navigate to Single sign-on → SAML of the created application.
- Populate the EntityID and Assertion Consumer Service URL (referred to as the Single Sign-On URL in our setup document) with the provided information. Then, click Save.
Step 3: Provide the IdP metadata URL
- Copy the App Federation Metadata URL from your application:
- Continue with step 3 of the Self Service Set Up guide.
Step 4: Assign user to the created Microsoft Entra ID application
- The user’s email will be used for SSO login.
Step 5: Test the SSO login for assigned user
- Navigate to the login page of your deployed AlphaSense application, enter the email of the assigned user, and click Next.
- This will redirect you to the MS Azure sign-in page. Provide the user credentials.
- Upon successful login, you will be redirected to your deployed AlphaSense homepage.
