Request help with a centrally managed installation
Some organizations block access to the Microsoft Marketplace or prevent users from installing add-ins. If you cannot install the add-in directly, your IT team can deploy it centrally
Central deployment can take time to arrange. We recommend starting this process as early as possible so your organization is ready before the August 1 and September 30 deadlines.
To begin the process, connect your firm’s IT contact with modelsupport@alpha-sense.com . A member of the AlphaSense team will work with your IT team to review your organization’s deployment requirements and available options.
Converting your Existing Tegus Workbooks
You will not need to rebuild your workbooks from scratch.
The AlphaSense Data & Models Excel add-in includes a one-click formula converter that automatically updates Tegus formulas in an existing workbook to the equivalent AlphaSense formulas.
The formula conversion tool will be available in mid-July 2026.
Recommended: Convert workbooks that use consensus estimates or pricing data first. This gives you time to review the converted formulas before August 1, 2026.
How to convert a Workbook
- Ensure you have downloaded and installed the AlphaSense Data & Models Excel add-in (download here).
- Save a new copy of the workbook you want to convert.
- In the AlphaSense ribbon, select Utilities (the gear icon).
- Under Move & Migrate, select Convert Tegus Formulas.
- After the conversion is complete, review the Conversion Report. The report identifies:
- The formulas that were converted
- Formulas that could not be converted
- Items that require further attention
- Additional context about any conversion issues
- After confirming that the converted workbook is correct, save the workbook according to your organization’s file-management process. At this point, you can delete the backup copy, and save the original file.
What the formula converter supports
The conversion tool automatically converts eligible Tegus formulas throughout a workbook into AlphaSense formulas that retrieve the equivalent data.
Supported formulas and actions

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to do anything if I do not use the Tegus Formulas Excel add-in?
- If you don’t have any existing workbooks using Tegus formulas powered by the Tegus Formulas Excel add-in AND don’t plan on using the AlphaSense Data & Models Excel add-in to pull AlphaSense’s Financial Data into your workbooks, then you don’t need to do anything as part of this transition.
- However, if you are in either of those situations, you’ll need to download and install the AlphaSense Data & Models Excel add-in to ensure your current or future workbooks continue to work.
- If your firm allows you to download add-ins from the Microsoft Marketplace, you can download and install the AlphaSense Data & Models Excel add-in from this link.
- If your firm blocks the Microsoft Marketplace and/or requires centralized deployments for add-ins, please contact modelsupport@alpha-sense.com to get a member of our team in touch with your IT team.
Will my existing data and outputs change after I convert?
- Consensus estimates may differ slightly from what you saw before since they reflect a different set of contributing broker estimates. Company Data metrics are unaffected and continue to come from Canalyst models.
- And with the AlphaSense Data & Models Excel add-in, you also get access to expanded coverage of historical financials and consensus estimates, additional formula-powered templates, and upcoming new features like data auditing, calendarization, and currency conversion.
Is there a cost to switch?
- No. There is no additional cost to use the AlphaSense Data & Models Excel add-in. Access is included in your current subscription.
Can I use both add-ins at the same time during the transition?
- Yes. We highly encourage it so you can get a feel for the new experience, data, and functionality you have access to.
What if I miss the August 1 or September 30 deadline?
- If you rely on consensus estimates or pricing data using Tegus formulas, you will need to ensure you’ve transitioned to the AlphaSense Data & Models Excel add-in by August 1. After that date, consensus estimates and pricing data will either return stale data or no longer return any data.
- After September 30, all Tegus formulas will return stale data or no longer return any data. To avoid disruptions to your workflow, you should convert all of your workbooks with Tegus formulas to AlphaSense formulas by that date.
I am blocked from installing the add-in by my IT team. What should I do?
- Your IT team likely requires centralized deployment which our team can help with. Connect your firm’s IT contact with our team at modelsupport@alpha-sense.com to get the process started.
