What is a Skill?
Think of a Skill as a saved playbook for a task you do often, for example, a comps update, a KPI pull, or pre-earnings prep. Instead of re-explaining the steps every time, you hand the task to a Skill and your agent runs it the same way each time.
AlphaSense provides a library of ready-to-use Skills. You can also build and customize your own.
Scope and Limitations
| Area | Current Scope |
| Availability | Beta; Skill library and customization options may change |
| Pre-built Skills | Provided by AlphaSense for common workflows |
| Custom Skills | You can build and reuse your own |
| Where Skills run | Inside a SuperAnalyst task |
Using Skills
- Open a new SuperAnalyst task.
- Choose a pre-built Skill from the library, or select a custom Skill you've created.
- You can ask SuperAnalyst to provide you a list of Skills it has access to OR
- Simply type “/” into the chat-box to review the list of Skills.
- Provide any task-specific details your agent asks for (for example, the company or period to cover) or approve the research plan.
- Review the output. Your agent runs the same steps each time you reuse the Skill.
How to Create a Skill
There are two ways to create a new skill, you can ask SuperAnalyst to save a workflow you just completed as a custom skill or you can start fresh, building a skill in natural language.
- Open a new SuperAnalyst task and explain to SuperAnalyst your workflow.
- Share with SuperAnalyst the details of your workflow.
- Iterate until the workflow and the deliverable is exactly what you need, then save it as a Skill.
- You can also open a past workflow you ran with SuperAnalyst — choose something that you have to do often.
- Confirm the workflow and deliverable meets your needs.
- Ask SuperAnalyst to save it as a Skill, for example: “Save this as a Skill so I can run this workflow on other competitors.”
Example Skills
- Comps update: Refresh a comparable-companies analysis with the latest figures.
- KPI pull: Gather a defined set of metrics across companies or filings.
- Pre-earnings prep: Compile recent commentary and estimates ahead of an earnings call.
Data Security
Skills use only the sources available to SuperAnalyst or the chat where they run. Every output remains traceable to its source.
