What is Channel Check Intelligence
Channel Check Intelligence is an AI-powered synthesis layer on top of AlphaSense’s channel check transcript library. The library consists of interviews with the experts surrounding a company, such as distributors, suppliers, customers, and partners. Channel Check Intelligence reads across those interviews for you, and organizes what experts said into deeply informed and auditable takeaways across the watchlists and individual companies in your coverage universe.
How it works:
- Experts are interviewed: Experts are screened before calls and remain anonymous. Channel check transcripts go through compliance review before they are added to the library.
- AI reads and synthesizes the transcripts: For each covered company, Channel Check Intelligence analyzes and synthesizes the reads across the transcripts into summaries that lead with the key takeaways.
- Claims link back to the source: Each insights carries a source tag showing the expert type and date, allowing users to click in to directly go to the expert quote that informed the read.
- Reads refresh daily: Each day, AlphaSense checks every covered company and sector for new transcripts. When there is new content, the summaries are re-scored.
Key features
- Watchlist and Sector filtering: Narrow the view to a watchlist or specific companies, so you're focused on the tickers in your coverage universe.
- Channel Sentiment: The quarter-over-quarter reads on expert sentiment, with clear indicators as to which tickers are improving and worsening at-a-glance.
- Time Series Analysis: How an entire sector is trending across quarters, for longitudinal context behind a single-quarter verdict across relevant tickers
- Outlook Breakdown: The four drivers (Demand, Supply, Competition, Pricing) behind every summary, each with its own directional call to help understand what’s truly driving the overall expert sentiment.
- Aggregated Metrics: KPI roll-ups calculated from the business performance metrics experts already cited in the conversation (presented as means, medians, and ranges).
- Expert Panel: Every expert behind the read (role, background, per-quarter sentiment, and their quotes) with View All Transcripts for the full source.
- Citations: Claim-level traceability; click any claim to jump to the exact verbatim quote behind it.
How to access Channel Check Intelligence
- Open the AlphaSense left-rail navigation and select the Channel Check Intelligence icon.
- Or, open a covered company's Company Profile and select the Channel Checks tab.
Coverage spans individual companies, groups of related tickers discussed on the same call, and broader industry or sector themes. If a company or sector you're looking for isn't covered yet, see "Requesting coverage" below.
What's on the Channel Check Overview page
The Channel Check Overview page is where you browse and monitor everything you have coverage for.
At the top, you'll see your coverage at a glance: how many channels, experts, and interviews are reflected this quarter.
Below that:
- Biggest movers: the channels with the most improved and most declined reads
- Channel Sentiment table: browse all your covered channels, or filter to just the ones that are improving, worsening, or newly covered since your last visit
- Time Series: a chart showing how sentiment in a sector or business segment has trended over recent quarters
You can filter the Channel Check Overview page by watchlist or sector so you're monitoring the tickers in your coverage universe. Company and sector filters you apply persist as you navigate throughout the page.
What's in a channel read
To see a full channel read, navigate to a Company Profile page and select the Channel Checks tab from the lefthand toolbar.
The verdict. A channel read is the auditable, verdict-first summary on a ticker. Every summary leads with the expert sentiment takeaways: Strongly Positive, Positive, Mixed, Negative, or Strongly Negative, along with a short rationale for that synthesized summary and how it's changed since last quarter (improving, maintained, or worsening). Alongside the verdict, you'll see how many experts were consulted and whether the underlying research is still in progress or finished for the quarter.
The Outlook Breakdown. Below the verdict, the read is broken down across four drivers:
- Demand
- Supply
- Competition
- Pricing
For each driver, you'll see the current read and how it's trending, the reasoning behind it, and a handful of supporting findings pulled from what experts said. This breakout helps users understand which drivers are influencing the overall sentiment trend for a company. Each finding carries a source tag showing the type of expert and the date it came from, so you can see the evidence behind the call, not just the headline. Where there's something notable on the horizon, you'll also see a "What to Watch" note.
Aggregated Metrics. Below the Outlook Breakdown, are the business performance metrics experts have cited in their transcripts (presented as means, medians, and ranges). Aggregates carry the eliciting question and the underlying quote it was built from.
The Expert Panel. This section lists everyone consulted that informed the channel read, so you can weigh the read by its individual sources. Understand the panel size, the mix of recurring vs new experts this quarter, and the sentiment split. Select an expert to see their background, their sentiment history on this channel, and a few of their most relevant recent quotes with citations that will open the individual transcripts. Select View All Transcripts to read the full source material.
Every Channel Read has a stable, shareable link that reopens to the same view, including the quarter and driver you had selected, so you can share a specific finding with a colleague.
Using Channel Check Intelligence in your workflow
Monitoring your coverage between earnings: Check the Channel Check Overview page's Channel Sentiment table daily to see which of your channels are moving and why. A channel can shift well before it shows up in reported numbers, so you don't have to wait for earnings season to catch up on everything at once.
Getting a read ahead of earnings: Open the channel read for a name you're long or short. Start with the verdict and how it's changed since last quarter, then check the driver-level Outlook Breakdown to understand the context behind the sentiment shifts before the print.
Validating or pressure-testing a thesis: Check whether the verdict and Outlook Breakdown support your view, then open the Expert Panel to compare the reasoning against what experts actually said. If the evidence breaks your position, you'll see it.
Benchmarking against peers: Filter the Channel Check Overview page to a sector or watchlist, scan the Channel Sentiment table to see which names are improving or worsening relative to their peers, and use Time Series to see how the sector has trended over recent quarters.
Preparing for a management meeting or expert call: Review the latest channel read on the company, then use the Aggregated Metrics and Expert Panel quotes to calibrate management's claims against what the channel is saying.
Sharing a finding: Once you've found something worth flagging, share the ticker’s channel overview link directly.
Requesting coverage or sharing feedback

FAQ
How is a Channel Check Intelligence different from a Channel Check Generative Grid?
They draw on the same channel-check transcript library A Grid gives you the content to navigate and read, ticker by ticker and quarter by quarter, allowing you to build your own perspective based off the surfaced findings. Channel Check Intelligence delivers the synthesized verdict first, so you validate it against the evidence and monitor where names stand between quarters.
How do I verify a channel read? Source tags to the verbatim expert quotes are provided throughout the Channel Check Intelligence workflow, specifically within the Outlook Breakdown, Aggregated Metrics, and Expert Panel sections. Select View All Transcripts to dig into the full source material.
How often does a channel read update? Channel Reads refresh daily. Each day, AlphaSense checks every covered channel for new transcripts; if new content is available, the read is re-scored. Channels with no new content that day aren't reprocessed.
What does it mean when research is “in progress”? The channel reads reflect the interviews completed so far in a quarter. The insights can change as more experts are interviewed and transcripts are added to the library.
Can I still use my existing Channel Check Generative Grids? Yes. During the beta, your existing Channel Check Grids remain available. You may see a prompt pointing you toward Channel Check Intelligence from a Grid.
Who can access Channel Check Intelligence? It's available to AlphaSense customers and trialers with access to Channel Check content. It's not available to sell-side accounts, accounts with compliance restrictions on Channel Check content, or customers in the EU at this time.
What if my firm has compliance restrictions on certain expert transcripts? Because reads are generated from the full channel-check library during the beta, accounts with these restrictions aren't included. Contact your AlphaSense account team to learn more about availability.
