Why Manage Expert Calls in AlphaSense?
We understand you want a more straightforward way to handle your call projects without juggling multiple emails and platforms. This upgraded workflow gives you a central workspace to:
- Kick-off new expert call projects without leaving AlphaSense.
- View, request, and schedule recommended experts for your research.
- Track upcoming calls and access completed call transcripts.
- Turn every completed transcript in a project into one auto-updating, investor-ready report.
Getting Started with Call Services
Find Call Projects on the left navigation bar, opening your Call Management dashboard. Here, you'll see active and completed projects.
Initiating a New Call Project
You can initiate a new call project in several ways:
- If you'd like to speak to the author of a specific transcript you're viewing, select "Talk to this Expert." You will be prompted to choose who conducts the call: your team (human-led) or the AI Interviewer (AI-led).
- For more broad projects select "Find Me Experts" within the top navigation bar, OR within "Call Projects", select "Create New"
Note: Users not approved for AI-led calls are automatically routed to the human-led path with in-context messaging. Experts who have opted out of AI-led calls are flagged automatically.
Provide the details of your project:
- Primary Research Focus: Enter the company name, industry, or topic for your research.
- Who Would You Like To Speak With: Select what best describes the expert you want to connect with.
- Additional Details: Add any additional information that helps our team to find the expert that aligns the best with your project.
- Screening Questions: If you have particular criteria or areas of focus, list them here to guide expert sourcing.
Once you submit your request, we'll begin finding the most relevant experts and provide those recommendations directly to you.
Reviewing and Selecting Expert Recommendations
After submitting your request, AlphaSense sources experts that match your project requirements. We’ll send an email once new experts are recommended, along with summary details (e.g., background, rate, and screening question responses).
To view and manage recommended experts:
- Go to Call Projects in the left-hand navigation bar.
- Choose your active project.
- Browse the recommended experts, including their bios, past roles, and areas of expertise.
- You can easily request more experts if needed, or pause the project when you have enough options
Scheduling a Call
If you’d like to share availability in advance (and reduce back-and-forth scheduling):
- Open your project from Call Projects.
- Select "Set Up Your Availability"
- Indicate the times/days that work best for you.
Book a Time
When an expert matches your provided availability:
- Click "Schedule Call" next to the expert’s name.
- A scheduling window will display matching time slots based on both your and the expert’s availability.
- Pick a time that suits you, and confirm your selection.
Immediately after booking, you’ll receive a "Call Confirmation" email with the date, time, and any dial-in or conferencing details.
- If your firm has a compliance officer or additional stakeholders, they can be included automatically.
Tracking Upcoming Calls and Reviewing Transcripts
- View Upcoming Calls: In your Call Projects portal, use the Upcoming Calls tab to see all scheduled sessions.
- Reschedule or Cancel: If needed, open the call details to adjust or cancel directly from the same dashboard.
Completed Calls & Transcripts
Compliance Review
Once a call finishes, the transcript undergoes a compliance review.
Accessing Your Transcript
After review, your completed calls appear in the Call Projects dashboard under "Completed Calls."
- Each call displays the expert's title, call date, and a "View Transcript" button.
- Expand a call to see the call taker (or "AI Interviewer" for AI-led calls), expert name, rate, about the expert, and screening questions and answers.
- "View Transcript" opens a focused document view showing only the completed calls from that project.
Tailored Takeaways
- At the end of every call (human-led or AI-led) AlphaSense automatically generates a Tailored Takeaway: a structured, personalized summary organized around your project goals and key questions.
- Tailored Takeaways are delivered in-platform in the document reader and in your transcript email PDF, above the transcript content.
- They are scoped exclusively to your team and are never surfaced in the broader transcript library.
Call Project Reports
A Call Project Report goes one step further than a Tailored Takeaway. Instead of summarizing a single call, it synthesizes every transcript in your project into one living, investor-ready output. [✓NEW]
The report auto-updates each time a new interview in the project is completed, so you always have a current view.
Each report includes:
- Pre-screening-question answers across every interview
- Thematic key takeaways
- Bull and bear quote groupings
- Directional quantitative framing
- Evidence snippets with citations linking back to the source transcript
- Project overview metadata, including expert roles, interview dates, and perspectives represented
Call Project Reports are available to any user or trialer with a call project set up through Expert Call Services.
FAQs
How do I request more experts if none of the recommendations match my needs?
- From your active project, click "Request More Experts". Provide any new criteria or clarifications, and our sourcing team will send fresh recommendations.
Can I invite colleagues or a compliance officer to the call?
- Yes - after booking, you can add participants to the calendar invite or share the dial-in info with anyone from their firm.
What if I need a specific expert with a particular background not yet in your database?
- Our team can conduct custom sourcing. Just specify your requirements in the request or follow-up notes, and we’ll do our best to find an exact match.
How soon can I expect recommended experts after I submit a request?
- This varies by project complexity. Many recommendations appear within 24–48 hours, though for highly specialized topics, it may take slightly longer.
Will my transcripts automatically appear in AlphaSense search results?
- By default, your private call transcripts remain accessible only to you and your designated team. However, once processed, they do integrate into the platform experience once embargo periods are finished.
