Call Mechanics
How does the AI interviewer work today?
- The AI interviewer dials the expert directly, delivers a mandatory compliance disclosure, and conducts a live phone interview guided by a structured prompt built from your research topics and AlphaSense proprietary context. These are real conversations with vetted human experts, not text-based interactions.
- At project kickoff, we will align on 5-10 interview topics per expert perspective. We use our internal AI tooling to generate a customized interview agent tailored to your project research goal and requirements.
How do you inform the AI interviewer agent?
- Each project begins with intelligent prompt generation powered by AlphaSense’s proprietary content, including transcripts, filings, and sector context, to give the AI interviewer deep domain knowledge. We tailor its questioning style to your goals and desired tone, applying built-in guardrails and interview best practices to know when to probe deeper, when to pivot, and how to keep conversations efficient and on track.
Does the agent learn from my calls or train on my proprietary data?
- No. Client inputs and call content are not used to train the underlying third-party LLM. They’re used only within your project, and then stored securely. The agent improves through AlphaSense’s ongoing internal testing and refinement, not from sharing your data.
How much involvement do we have in prompting the agent?
- The prompting process is flexible to align with your research workflow. Some clients provide detailed interview questions for the agent to cover verbatim. Others provide only a few high-level questions or topics. We adjust prompts accordingly and refine based on your feedback.
Can I sit in on the call?
- We are unable to offer the ability to sit in on the call or live prompting. The agent currently calls the expert directly (not the usual conference bridge), which is why customers cannot join today.
Can we use our own proprietary agent to conduct calls (AlphaSense to source experts), keeping workflow/training data under our control?
- Not at this time.

What is the transcript turnaround time?
- Transcripts are typically available in under 24 hours following a four-step compliance review that combines automated checks with human-in-the-loop oversight to ensure compliance.
When will the transcript be posted to the AlphaSense platform?
- AI-led calls follow the same model as 1:1 expert calls (14-day delay for public target companies, 90-day delay for private target companies) with the option to pay-to-delay the post date.
Can I get access to the audio file in addition to the transcript?
- We can provide the raw audio file once we have received explicit approval from your compliance team.

What additional compliance requirements are needed for a customer to run an AI-led call?
- Before we can begin sourcing experts, your Client Research Manager will send an email to your firm's compliance officer informing them that calls are conducted using an AI-Interviewer.
- Please make sure your compliance officer reviews and responds to the email - to confirm receipt or ask any additional questions. Confirmation from your compliance officer will be required before we can begin sourcing.
Does the expert know that it is an AI agent running the call?
- Yes, transparency and informed consent are core to our process. Experts are clearly informed during sourcing that the interview will be conducted by an AI interviewer. At the start of every call, a mandatory compliance disclosure is delivered and cannot be skipped or interrupted. Our analysts also provide brief pre-call guidance to ensure experts are comfortable and positioned to engage effectively with the AI. During the conversation, experts can ask the AI to repeat, rephrase, or simplify questions at any time.
How do you prevent MNPI?
- Our agent is configured and guardrailed with MNPI compliance restrictions so that no confidential information is discussed during the interview. We’ve found that AI agents can reduce exposure beyond a traditional 1:1 expert call because the team is not on the line, adding a layer of security. Following the call, the transcript is sent to our compliance team for a multi-layer compliance review (automated + human-in-the-loop) before you, the client, can access your transcript.
What are the eligibility requirements for experts to participate in a conversation with the AI Interviewer?
- Experts who have agreed to Tegus by AlphaSense’s Terms and Conditions, completed their mandatory compliance training, and have answered the standard pre-call questionnaire are eligible, meeting all the same requirements experts must meet to participate in our client-led calls.
Are Tegus by AlphaSense's standard compliance restrictions applied to all AI-led Expert Calls?
- Yes. All experts participating in AI-led Interviewer calls will be subject to the same compliance restrictions as client-led calls. For example, experts cannot participate in calls concerning their current employer or for which they’ve indicated that they have a material relationship, among other restrictions. For the full list of restrictions, speak to your Client Relationship Manager.
How are AI-led Expert Call transcripts identifiable on the platform?
- For now, AI-led Interviewer calls, which will be included in our library alongside client-led transcripts, will be tagged as “AI Interviews” under the “Analyst Perspective” filter and users can filter these transcripts accordingly. Further, any client compliance restrictions applied to expert transcripts within the entire library will be applied to AI Interviewer calls as well.
Pricing
How are AI-led expert calls priced?
- AI-led expert calls are priced the same as our traditional 1:1 expert calls, which is the hourly expert rate (prorated to the nearest 15 minutes) plus a flat $75 transcription fee.
How are time restrictions placed on AI-led calls?
- You can schedule calls for 30, 45, or 60 minutes. At this time, the AI interviewer is designed to prioritize completing all important topics rather than strictly cutting off the conversation at a fixed endpoint.
- We will configure agent prompting around your desired call duration and coach experts during the pre-call process so that they are aware of the scheduled call length. Total call duration is subject to slight variability due to expert response duration.

How does Tegus by AlphaSense ensure accuracy in AI-led expert calls?
- Accuracy is managed in three layers: upfront prompting (your questions plus AlphaSense's proprietary context, crafted by our team), live call behaviors (agents trained to probe, redirect, and avoid MNPI), and post-call review (every transcript goes through automated and human in-the-loop compliance checks before release). If quality ever falls short, we rerun the call at no cost. Client inputs never train the underlying model, and audio is anonymized to protect the expert's identity.

- Based on the work we’ve conducted to date, more than 95% of experts enjoyed the experience and would choose to do an AI-led expert call again. Some noted short pauses or robotic gaps, but most highlighted the quality of probing and follow-up when prompts were well prepared.
