Compile competitive or peer analysis data including Revenues, EBITDA and Net Income calculations in a few minutes within AlphaSense

Perform a Competitive Analysis in AlphaSense

STEP 1: Run a Company/Ticker Search for a competitor

Using the Company & Ticker Search bar, search for a known competitor or company of interest. You can search for any public or private company by their name or ticker symbol.

STEP 2: Review the Financials & Estimates within Company Topics

After you've run a Company/Ticker search, you'll take a look at the tearsheet on the right-hand side. Use the Navigation bar at the top to jump to the "Financials & Estimates" section

STEP 3: Export the Data to Excel

Export the date into Excel. Repeat for any and all competitors you wish to complete a competitive analysis for and copy the data into a single spreadsheet.

STEP 4: Run a Company/Ticker Search for your organization

Using the Company & Ticker Search bar, search for your organization.

STEP 5: Update the Competition & Peers within Company Topics

After you've run a Company/Ticker search, take a look at the tearsheet on the right-hand side. Use the Navigation bar at the top to jump to the "Competition & Peers" section.

This section will pre-populate with known peer and competitive organizations. If you'd like to customize this list:

  • Remove a company from the list by selecting the minus sign (-)

  • Add a company by typing in their name into the search bar

STEP 6: Export Table to Excel

Export the date into Excel and combine it with the file you've already made from "Fundamentals & Estimates".

STEP 7: Build a Watchlist for this Peerset

To easily run searches across your peerset in the future, create a Watchlist. Once you've added your peers, decide if you'd like to add your Watchlist to your Dashboard and name your Watchlist (ex: [YOUR COMPANY NAME] Competitive Peerset)

STEP 8: Add your Peerset Watchlist to your Dashboard for ongoing monitoring

Update your Dashboard to reflect the Competitive Peerset Watchlist you've just created. You can also create this watchlist from the Dashboard itself by selecting "New Watchlist".

This will pre-load the latest company documents, broker research, and news to your dashboard. You can add your own saved searches related to your peerset to create a custom view to monitor these organizations.
