Use the Document Viewer to read, search, save, and take action on source documents in AlphaSense. You can open the Document Viewer from document search results, a Generative Search citation, alerts, saved content, or other areas of the platform.
The Document Viewer helps you move from a high-level answer to the original source so you can verify context, review the full document, and capture insights for your workflow.
Open a Document
When you open a document from the search results page, AlphaSense displays two main areas:
- Keyword Hits pane: Shows mentions of your search terms and related Smart Synonyms.
- Document Viewer: Shows the full source document.
Use Keyword Hits to Find Relevant Mentions
The Keyword Hits pane helps you move quickly through the most relevant parts of a document.
Use Keyword Hits to:
- See every mention of your search terms.
- Review related Smart Synonyms.
- Select a snippet and jump directly to that section of the document.
- Scan nearby context using the proximity window.
Keyword Hits works like an enhanced find-in-document tool. Instead of only matching exact words, it also helps surface related language so you can find important context faster.
Note: To Collapse the Keyword Hits pane and make more room for the document, select the paper magnifying glass icon near the upper-left area of the document. Select the icon again to reopen the Keyword Hits pane.
Review the Document Header
The Document Header gives you access to document actions and research tools.
To view more tools, select the dropdown arrow in the document header. Available tools vary by document type, content source, and your AlphaSense permissions.
